Description

Woodblock print (reprint) – Toshi Yoshida (1911-1995) – Two Lanterns – Heisei period (1989-2019)

The original is from 1964, this is a later version from the Heisei period (1989-2019)

This print is reprinted by Komatsu Heiachi 小松平八.

Beautiful, autumn colors. Very special is also the relief pressed in the paper. You see this in the caracters on the left side, the line of the trees/ branches and leafs in the background.

Toshi Yoshida was the eldest son of Hiroshi Yoshida. Like his father he undertook extensive travels all over the world. His trips took him to the U.S.A., Canada, India, Africa, Australia and even to the Antarctica. Most of his print subjects are focused on landscapes or animals depicted in a realistic style. After the death of his father Hiroshi Yoshida, he even experimented in abstract art for a while but returned to realistic landscape prints.

The woodblock print is in excellent condition, as new ! Never been framed.
Will be packed with great care, between cardboard plates to prevent bending and send with tracking post worldwide.
