About the artist

Masahiro Kasai was born in Tokyo in 1954 where he still lives and works. He graduated from Tokyo Gakugei University in 1978 and then lived in France where he studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. He chose silk screen printmaking as his medium and the French influence has remained in him as all his works are titled in French. Kasai’s delicate silk screens have always had nature and light as a theme. One can almost sense a poetic message in his works. He strives to capture the rhythm of nature, such as the changing light of the different seasons.
